Vibration Problem 95 SE

Hi,

I have a 95 Se and have a vibration problem. At speed there are no vibrations in the wheel - ok just slight from about 50-60 mph but then it evens out, but under hard brake the steering wheels shims back and forth?

I have just recently hand the drive axle replaced but it had the sin/vibration even before it was replaced. Also, the rotor were turned the last time the brakes were done and they still look smooth.

Could it be an out of balance tire? Or is it the struts - they I believe have never been changed - 104K on the car.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks

Sounds like warped rotors.

I have/ had this problem. My rotors were chipped a little warped and old. The problem was mostly with braking. That replaced them (pads and rotors) and eleminated that but I still have some vibration at around 60 but then it smooths out over or under. I checked my time pressure and it was very low. My tread may be uneven on one of the front tires maybe yours is too. Check air levels and tread on your tires. Look at corner wear on the tires etc.

Thanks for the help guys. I will grab a new pair of rotors and pads and put them in. The tires may be in need of change soon, they appear to be pretty even but the vibration probably is making them a bit uneven that i cannot see.
