Very Urgent!

I have a VERY URGENT QUESTION I NEED ANSWERED ASAP! There is some type of electrical sensor just above the oil filter that connects to the block. It has one wire going to it (the wire looks to be green with a red stripe) What is that sensor. Mine BROKE! I was changing the oil, accidentally gave the wire a tug and the stupid sensor broke in half.

It is your anti knock sensor. 135.00 from Honda. 145.00 from auto zone. Try a junk yard.

did before I broke it. Haven't started it up since...there's no oil in the engine right now.

Give it a shot. There is no oil feeding it, so that is not an issue. CE might come on and you will know what it is for. I brole mine when I pulled the waterpump tube out and whacked it.

By the way Good luck.

Alrighty, I just turned the ignition on, but I didn't crank it to start it. Anyone want to place any bets as to whether or not I get a CEL?

At idle it was fine. Reved to 3000 and held it and it popped on.

Did you guys replace yours yourselves? What size socket do I need? I know it's big, my 22mm was too small.

I was lucky my head was off when I did mine. I had to use a cresent wrench (I hated doing that). Most sets don't have them, mine didn't. I wish I could help more. Go to SEARS. Get all the sizes above 22mm use the one that fits keep it and return the rest.

Yeah, it would be much easier to get to with the head off...I tried a cresent wrench from underneath with no luck, it wouldn't fit in there.
