valves!!

hey, i recently got a valve tick ( its really loud, im 90% sure they are bent) because i accidently over revved my motor and im going to just completely rebuild the head because all the valves are crappy anyway. i found these on ebay, anyone got anything good/bad to say about em?,

HONDA PRELUDE 92-96 H23A H23 H23A1 Valves NITRIDE 2.3 - eBay (item 180538908285 end time Dec-24-10 17:23:11 PST)

i dont have anything major done to my car either so im pretty much just looking for a stock replacement, all i got done to my car is crower stage 1 camshafts, dc header, cheap intake, exhaust....

If you want to keep your car, i would always go with name brand items. I haven't heard anything about these valves or evne the company so try at your own risk.

I bounced my old high mileage H23a1 off the fuel cutoff once and caused valve tick, it was just the clearance being thrown out of spec. Before you do anything, pull your valve cover and check the clearances.

If you do need new valves nothing will be as good of quality and fit as OEM.

i am almost positive that your right because i had to take the head off anyway because i had to bring it back to a machine shop where they did my valve seals a couple weeks ago for me because they were all smashed up already because someone didnt do their job right (i think they were b series seals anyway!!) and i was just going to have them check everything on the head while it was there anyway.. any who, as i was taking the head off, i usually loosen the rocker arm adjusting bolts before i remove the camshafts and on 2 of them i noticed the bolts were VERY loose. to the point where i could have un done them with my fingers.. i then looked closely and noticed the screw was all the way up on them!!.....

so in conclusion,my theory as to what happened is the bolts on 2 of my rocker arms werent tightened down good enough and when i over revved my car it must have made the clearance get all screwed up, thus causing the noise i was hearing... so a good lesson learned, make 100% sure ALL the bolts are tightened to the proper specs or you can have a stupid problem like this happen... thanks guys.

im going to put the head back on in about a week or so when i get my arp head studs im about to order, so hopefully i wont hear that noise again because it was REALLY LOUD.
