VAFC dyno resuLts

AFC Dyno tune RESULTS!
ok peoplE went and got the car dyno tuned yesterday....

IT was My prelude, my buddies v6 accord, a 87 buick grand national, and a 98 Mustang Cobra.

The National and the Cobra were just doing three baseline runs eachL.

ResulTsL:
Grand National: Max Hp:272 Max torque: 380
Cobra: MAX HP: 262 Torque: Dont remeber

Now onto the tuning. My buddy with the V6 accord has intake, exhaust and a V-afc.. he had it installEd and tuned by someone without a dyno.. they had him giving up to 6% more fuel all across the rpm range... He gets on the dyno and get some PITIFU results around 140hp and 170torque BUT we Look at his A/F ratio and All across the rpm band he is running like 10:1.. s we set his V-afc ALL to zero.. and BAM he jumps to Like 160hp and 190torque..
Then we do some tunining and lEan it out up to around 5-6LL%L accross most of the power band.. after 7 puLLS we get a final number of 176HP and 205 TorqueL! He was estatic from the resuLTs...

OKAY now time for me to tune and Let me teLl you I got some FUNKY readings!!!

Okay my mods are in my sig..
Baseline run.. BTW I have my timing set to fuLl advance....
for peopLe that have this done.. which I know a lot of us 4g guys do Watch out!.. I have had it set full advance for a long time incLuding through the summer and have NEVER heard any pinging or anything here are some numbers...
On my first puLl I got 165 hp and 138 torque BUT my AF reading are ALL reading in the 13.7+ neighboorhood ESPECIALY in narrow throttle "cruising" in 4th gear at about 50-60mph... VERY SHOCKED cause I was certian my car was runnign helLa rich.. wait it gets better...

So we do about 12 runs on the dyno I have my a/f ratio reading high 12's aLl across the rpm band and get a final number of 171.3hp and 139.2 toruque.. but I had to do some funky setting on the VAFC to get me AF where I wanted it anything beLow 4K I hAD TO add about 7% more fueL across the board at both wide and narrow throttle.. THe ONY plAce I leaned it out was from 6.5k to redLine.. I was suprised at how my engine was running to say the least but the Dyno tune was well worth the money and time!!

Well what I though was Lots of blAck smoke due to running rich is actuallY a ton of oiL being burned when I VTEC.. suprise suprise... the engine has 140k on it and I think it is time for a rebuiLd.. stilL even with aLl those miLEs I did crank over 170+ hp.. so I was very happy..

THis was done on a Dyno JET and they are SAE corrected numbers.

12 runs I hope you had the fans on full blast. Remember your car is being run hard with no air going through the radiator.
