VAFC 2 hook up.. Good or Bad??

Im thinking about hooking up a vafc 2 because my vtec hits at 6200 and I want it to hit at like 5200 or 5500. But I heard on some forums that you shouldnt hook one up only if your going to get it dynoed and tuned??? so idk??

How do you know it's stock? If it were stock it you wouldn't be engaging vtec so late. Try borrowing someones stock p13. Installing a vafc isn't the right answer to fix your problems.

As long as you don't tamper with any critical settings on it, you'll be fine with an untuned VAFC. You can use it to display accurate RPM until you get it tuned.

This is mostly true. You can hook up a VAFC, go through the initial setup, and only change the VTEC engagement without touching anything else. However, as already stated, that's not the answer to your problem. You need to fix your ECU.

FYI, my VAFCII reads the exact same as my stock tachometer. Something about the VAFC using the VSS signal. I dunno.
