Vacuum leak? Lost...
Alright well, update and need some help. A few months ago, I dropped a JDM h22 in my 93 vtec, and after I went through hell getting it in, its been having a problem idling.
At the very first start up, definate problem, my mph's were climbing and my car rev'd rediculously high. Then I replaced the TPS sensor, problem solved...or I thought. A little later, I can't remember when exactly but I think it was around the time I put my V2 intake on...it started idling from about 1200 to 1600-1700 over...and over...and over. My friends told me it was the MAP sensor, but at the time my check engine light never came on.
So I replaced MOST of the vacuum lines just in case, and replaced the intake manifold gasket. Then eventually, it would start revving as soon as I would start my car, and the only way I can get it to stop (besides driving) would be to put it in gear and let off the clutch until it just barely grabs. So finally today I get another MAP sensor. I put it in, no check engine light...and my car is idling fine, and little high...about 2100 or so, but alright.
Then just to check, i hit the throttle from under the hood, and as soon as i let off, it starts idling the same way again. I noticed one of the hoses I had replaced had slipped off, and put it back on. After that, it was back to normal..so I take it on the road. As soon as I get to the end of my street, it starts again.
One of my friends used to own a '91 civic hatch, and he had the same problem and said it turned out to be the rotary button on his distributor, and that fixed it. How do I know if mine is broken? Could that be it? Could it be that when I put my JDM engine in, I used my external coil (JDM's come internal coil) and old distributor?
