USDM Prelude SRV vs. JDM swapped SRV's - Honda Prelude Forum

Have any of you driven both cars one after the other?

I did today.

I drive a 92 Prelude SR w/ JDM H22A swap.

First i took my car for a rip around the block, then hopped out and took my friends 93 SRV for a spin.

One thing i noticed is that the USDM h22a's dont pull as hard when vtec kicks in.

When vtec in MY prelude comes in, the engine throws a high pitched scream and you FEEL the car pull way harder than before engagement.

When i drove my buddies car, the "scream" during engagement wasnt as loud, and the pull wasnt as hard. We have the same mods and his car runs great so its not the mods thats causing the difference...

Any of you experience this?

There is a definate difference. I've witnessed it at the drag strip. A 93 US 4WS with a JDM H22 and a short ram intake was wasting all of the 4th Gen USDM VTECs there, some with I/H/E etc.

LSD, Higher Compression, high octane gas in Canada, what did you expect? JDM H22a's are nice.....
