Urethane question

How shapable is urethane? If you heat it will it be able to retain the shape you moved it too?

Yea, i know its pretty durable, but can it be REshapened? The reason im asking is cause i got a wwrs lip for an integra, the 94-96, im trying to see if i can custom fit it to my car......ghetto yes, but its a free lip....

It can be re-shaped, but to what extent I am not sure. also, you may get some uneven bends or bubbling if you heat it too much. If you put a heat gun to it (just get it warm, dont melt it) you should be able to modify its shape. Then mist it with some cool water to cure it.

If the lip is free, why not try.... but then again, isnt the prelude front wider than the teg? i doubt you can stretch the length of it. Check on that first.

Why not just extend the middle by 4 inches,

hehe, j/k, I'm bored out of my mind right now.

cause i dont want to cut the thing in half, plus, because of the shape in the middle, it will be alot harder to make something there then it will be on the sides....

I am curious as to how you plan on widening the lip? Hopefully you were not planning on fiberglass.

Nope, no fiberglass, I have a few misc bumpers laying around my basement, i will either be chopping those up or I will try to find som kind of plastic/urethane/anything that will work. Im using this adhesive called "PC 11" to stick the pieces together.

I've already used it once, its pretty strong. I got the lip for free because it was broken in 2 pieces. IF you know how the lip works for the 94-96 integra, it bolts directly on both sides, well i dunno how it happened but the on one side right below where it bolts, it was severed. I glue it back together with reinforcing metal pieces in the back and its fine how

I wont be able to do this till after finals and after i get all my stuff back, i can't wait to finally paint it along with my rear accord trim and of course, to see Episode 2
