upper control arm, purchase ball joint separate?

like the subject says, am i able to purchase the ball joint separately from the control arm? if so, does it take a "special tool" to press it in? thanks.

edit: ive searched already and have found opposing posts to answer this question.

You could get a oem balljoint from pepboys and autozone. 40-50 bucks. I was actually just looking for the boot but they do not sell just the boot.

You can only get the lower ball joint from the parts stores. I never figured out why Honda wont sell the ball joint seperately. It's not like they are one piece, you can press them out. I have NEVER been able to find any parts stores that sell just the upper Ball joint. Your best bet is to find one in a salvage yard that is in good shape.

Thanks for the replies. I priced a control arm/ball joint at Napa for 90 bucks plus shipping, and the honda part is 124 dollars. i ordered the honda part since the price difference wasnt staggering. ill replace that asap and im going to put a new boot on the other side while ive got the pickle fork out, since the old boot is leaking.
