Upgrading brake system on 93Si H23

Hi,

I'm hoping you guys can help me out with some good sound advise.

The time has come to upgrade my brakes... my master cylinder is about to go and my pads all prettty much are with in 5k of needing to be replaced my brakes lines are original and I figure might as well do them too while I'm at it to get the best gains.

I have a budget of about $400- $500. What would be the best Bang for my Buck?

Would VTEC calipers and rotors be worth it? Would NSX or S2000 parts be better?... would they even fit?

I currently have 15's on my car and I have 16's that I can put on... I'll be getting 17's in a few months... so That kinda limits my rotor size.

The car is used for spirited driving and baning the twisties.. it's also my daily driver.

Thanks for the input.

-Mark

What do you mean by best gains? If you want better stopping power, get better tires.

If you want a bit better performance I'd just say get some better pads (hawk, axxis, etc) and some new rotors and call it a day. Vtec brakes would help some. Others have done Legend or NSX upgrades which may be more about bling than anything else.

Do a search though, there is a ton of info on brakes upgrades!

Nice pads and tires are ALL you need for a street driven car.

I went for VTEC brake calipers and axxis ultimate pads and switched over to valvoline syntec fluid, MAN this thing can stop like crazy now compared to before.... well let me rephrase that.. it WOULD be able to if i had good tires.. now it just goes crazy with ABS cuz its so easy to start lockup.. i mean think about it.. you have almost 1" more pad surface, and you will have better pads as well..

If i were you id get some brembo rotors and axxis brake pads..i think there is still a sale on them in the for sale section. Check it out. If your not bothered by alot of brake dust then axxis is the way to go. My brakes kick ass.

I ended up getting a new OEM Nissin Master Cylinder, Rotora rotors, Goodridge SS lines and Axxis Ultimates... I couldn't find VTEC calipers so I'm still stock on the H23 Si ones... I'll be getting them this friday... hopefully installed on Saturday... I got new Falken tires too.. so yeah, I'm gonna be able to stop

Now I can start looking for power adders
