uh oh .. i got a CEL (check engine lite)

Ok, so im reading around and theres lots of information on 5gens and how to jumper it and get the CEL code, ive got the site :

http://www.hondaprelude.to/main_checkengine.html

With all of the codes listed ... but I can NOT find in side my 92 4ws where to jump the plug and get the reading ..

and the yellow light that blinks I assume is the check engine light on the dash ...

Where do I find this plug to jump? is it behind and accessable by the gas pedal? if so I have what looks to be a bad move by whomever installed the alarm because theres 1 plug taped up with other wires around it ..

whats it look like, what color are the wires, is there any other place i can jump to get the CEL code?

links with pics are appreciated, ill do one as well and it can be faq'd ..

thanks in advancE!

i cant tell you for sure on the 4g, but on my 5g its got a blue rj-45 type connector clip that plugs into a big blue clip that snaps onto the console/dash/thingie... I remember this being discussed before so search should yeild your answer. Its hidden somewhere.... i really cant recall.

The blue is a baby blue in color.

And yes, the checking light is on the dash.

You dont need to remove the center console. Just reach back behind the gas pedal.

nope guess not after all . I'm throwing code 9.
Detection:
9 Cylinder Position Sensor
Intermittent Interruption
No Signal

Possible causes:
CYP Sensor
CYP Sensor Circuit
ECM

I'm gonna start a new post in general on this ..

the pics you posted above are great, thanks .. all I did was reach around behind the driver side of the center console and I felt 2 plugs .. its the BLUE plug closest to the passenger side with 2 wires .. short those 2 and the check engine light starts to blink a series of times.

awesome! thanks

RESOLVED, thanks 4bidden! you were on the right track.

A local luder I found on beyond.ca had the same problem as I did, the bearrings on the distributor shaft wore out, when I opened up my distributor cap there was red dust all inside, the plastic piece under the rotor was broken ...

I couldnt find anybody to replace the bearrings so i spent 130bux and replaced the whole distrib from a h22 with 88,000kilometer on it ...running awesome now! no cel.. didnt even have to pull the battery to clear it.. WOO!
