Type S

Hey guys got some questions! I've tried searching but haven't found the right answers I'm looking for! I've got a very high mile h22a1 and I'm considering swapping in a new long block! I'm looking for the easiest swap so I'm thinking of dropping a type S long block in place of my usdm h22a1 longblock! I'm looking at the type S long block from hmotors it's only a couple hundred more than the regular jdm h22a and id love the extra hp I was told that the type S won't bolt directly the my usdm h22 tranny that's on my Lude right now? Also I would like to know if the type S is even a direct switch out/switch in long block? Would I need other parts? Also if I do switch it in with all my existing h22 stuff wouldnt that make the motor obd1? I plan on buying a new tranny also! If that helps? People tell me go h23 but I personally am a h22 guy lol but thanks for the help guys!!!

Won't work and honestly the red top engines are overly expensive unless you never plan on ever changing the internals(cams, pistons, etc.).

If you want a red top swap the Euro R is the best hands down, the transmission it comes with has way better gear ratios than any factory H trans and has a helical LSD. The engine will be OBD2 but it can easily be converted using some of the parts off your engine. You also would want to look into a chipped ECU that is mapped for the engine since the ECU wont work unless you convert the car to OBD2, you old P13 will run it but not to its fullest.

Great thanks for the info!! Also consider rebuilding my current engine! I know it has 250,000+ miles I'm really in a serious debate lol
