had to change my wheel last night at 1 am in 20 degree weather cause i got a flat forgot i left car in gear when i jacked it up and in the morning when i got up to remote start my car i did it and then after it was too late remembered it was in gear looked out the window and saw my car smash into my metal basketball hoop pole head on..... ****ed up my bumper pretty bad lucky nothing else was damaged.... now i gotta buy 2 new tires and get a new bumper
Try to put yourselves in your neighbors shoes....they're outside plowing the snow or whatever, all the sudden the car across the street rams into the basketball hoop. I don't know why but that paints a funny picture in my head.
Sucks about the bumper though....I need a rear one and you need a front.
i got a remote start but it wont start in gear. its a compustar and its an alarm and starter in one. if i dont shut it down in a certain order then it wont start its a great safety and i love it. sorry about your car i would be so heart broken if my car was stolen but i live in north dakota and those things dont happen here really at all (especially if its got an alarm).
yea mine doesn't have that security ****... some shop did a bypass so it works on a manual, its worth it though im gonna get some kinda body kit ne ways..
Whenever someone asks about doing remote start on a manual I remind them to do it right. Otherwise you will eventually damage people or property. I can't believe a shop actually installed it like that (usually it's morons doing it themselves.)
My car has remote start, but it's auto. When I do a auto to manual swap i'd be scared to even use remote start at all.
No it is not illegal, to make it safe, what you have to do it wire in the negative neutral/park saftey switch. if you don't and you remote start: crash. If you do, the starter will not crank the car and will shutdown. Its like the purpose of a hood pin switch.
