Two Questions.....

The person before me was dumb and spray painted the Sunroof and the trunk lid with black spray paint and it looks like crap compared to my stock black paint, how would you go about removing the spray paint or would you just go to the junkyard and buy the two parts?

Also my gas gauge is not showing how much gas I have in my tank, what could be the problem, anyone?

No way... the same thing happened to my prelude too. The guy I bought it from spraypainted his hood, and some parts of the side. There are also scratch marks on the sides too. What's the best to do?

If the previous owners spray painted various parts of the car, then there was obviosuly something wrong with the paint. They either did it to cover, scratches, oxidation, performed body work, or were complete morons.

Because of this you don't know exactly what you are dealing with underneath.

I wouldn't take any chances with there being any rust or other corrosion destroying the metal panels below so I would take it to an auto body shop and have them strip the panels to make sure everything is ok and then have the panels repainted.

It would be peace of mind for me knowing what I was dealing with. I wouldn't want to pay to have the panels repainted only to find rust eating through the paint a few months later.

I would think repainting should be a lot less then buying new old parts that already have old paint.

yea I agree, plus it'll cost more to buy new parts and get a paint job, just get a paint job and save the $$$ for something else

PS. o BTW Brendon i figured it out where that gauge was mounted to, I went to HP.com and saw a pic of you setup, I like it there looks really great, nice clean job, always looks good when you take the time to do something, and none of that half ass jobs I seen some people do....

The gas gauge could be anything. It is electronic so it could have gone bad and needs to be replaced or it could be something like the floater in your gas tank has gone bad, and it can't read the appropriate gas level.

It's hard to diagnose the problem without the proper equipment. I would just take it to Honda to find out what is wrong. They should be able to tell you what the problem is the first time. It beats you trying to solve the problem yourself and spending money replacing things that were perfectly fine to begin with.

PreludeNYC and brendon2k, i have the same gauge setup, but instead of air/fuel, i threw my N20 gauge in there. Its a great place to put a gauge......there are some sketchy pics on my website www.geocities.com/mziggy16

94VTECLude, get it repainted, it will look 10 times better
