Tweeter Installation Photo's

Hi,

As this is 4th gen specific and not related only to audio I've posted here. I should also mention that I've tried searching and found nothing.

I have just removed the tweeter grills on my JDM V-TEC and found that there are no tweeters!!

The wiring is there but that's it - so I want to replace them - can anybody tell me what size should go there and how are they fitted?? Any photos of brackets etc (which i fear might be missing) would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Hey,

Well the bracket is a little metal bar that is attached to the back of the plastic cover. It has a little hole drilled in it. The tweeters can pretty much be anything you want. The way they are attached is by a screw that goes through that hole and into the back of the tweeters. I currently have 1" MBQuarts in there. I am sorry I don't have any pics.

Good luck

Pretty much any tweeter will work, just might not mount like the OEM piece. You will need as crossover on it, the stock ones had it across the leads of the tweeter. Take the opportunity to buy some nice component speakers

Pick up a nice set of componets for $150 (usd), or just get some tweeters with crossovers off ebay for $30 or so. As far as mounting them, you are just gonna have to rig something up. It's not like they need to be terribly secure. . .velcro tape should do the trick.

actually pick up a nice pair of component speakers MB QUART QSDs or ECLIPSE 8062s and better make it at least $450 ... now that's premium audio!

When I got my car, the stock tweeters were missing and the bracket that retains them. I bought a new component set (Infinity Kappa) and mounted the tweeters on the window switch panel, it gives a richer sound from that location.

Thanks U.K VTEC,

I'll have look later at the install locations - I fancy keeping it stock looking though.

No probs, although everyone who has been in my car thought they were stock anyway.
