hello i have a 1996 honda prelude si with a H23a1 it dropped a valve and i decided to do a swap....i got a OBD1 H22a motor
i have it in and i used my OBD2 harness i wired up vtec and everything i also am using the P13 ecu OBD1 i used it with a convertion harness...
i am usin my external distributor and all things for OBD2 since thats wat my harness is...
my problem is when i try to crank it, it jus spins but wont fire????
i checked the coil and all wires seemed to be hot. wheres the ground??? also snice i went from OBD2 to OBD1 i dont have a knock sensor???i am usin the OBD1 ECU thou.
is this my problem or is it the distributor...i put a brand new coil on and nuthin....
also does anyone know where all the grounds are is there three or two or wat???

the ground through the block when the plug fires you need 3 things to start it fuel air and a spark. see if thier a spark off the plug, if their is move on to fuel pressure (assuming air is getting into the motor hard to stop it)

I had the same problem when i had my F22B Dohc in. Turned out it was my distributor. I forget which wire it was but it wasn't hot. I jumped the wire from the battery and i started sparking. I changed my distributor and started right up.

i think that it is the green one cuz it is a smaller gauge than the others...i will check it tomorrow...and if that doesnt work then im takin it to velocity trends. and let them deal wid it.
but one question does it matter if i have a knock and crank pos sensor snice its OBD1 or will it jus throw a CEL...emissiond doesnt matter i live in FL
