Turbo'd H23 vs. H22a

Ok, my 4th gen lude has about 130K on it... i got it for a bargain... anyways, i want to know the price differential between doing these 2 things. How much would it cost to rebuild my h23, and then turboing, plus changing the transmission (if needed, i have an auto right now, don't forget to include labor, I am in GA)? Whereas, if I buy a jspec h22 and have it installed plus labor? Really confused on the situation, getting a few extra cents cuz I am graduating in May.

I would call around to your local shops, since pricing varies GREATLY with area. Also, there is a writeup on www.honda prelude.com on swapping from auto to manual, so check that out

You can get a JDM H22 for anywhere from 1800 to 3000. Try doing a search. A turbo kit will at least run you 3K for an H23

Rebuild h23 = $1000/160hp
New JDM h22 = $2300/200hp <--- Most reliable
Rebuild h23 + turbo = $4000+/250whp+ <--- Most hp possible
New JDM h22 + turbo = $5300+/250whp+

How much do you want to spend?

All dollar amounts are approx. All hp figures are speculative.

He is saying 250+. I think Aboslut is trying to say turbo has as much potential as you want, but for the estimated amount he is giving you can yield around that kind of HP.
