Lets say I am driving, I get it up to around 4-5K (or even higher) in any gear and then i let it off the gas, once I am off the gas the noise starts.
It sounds like a vibration "whirring" sound, and while the rpms decline it winds down. The noise doesnt happen when i am on the gas, nor does it happen below about 4K, it only happens from the time I get off the gas at above 4K until the rpms drop below 4k.
It is a very obnoxious sound and I have no idea what it could be.

Where is the noise at on the car (front-rear-middle)? Could it be exhaust? Like maybe a heatshield vibration or backpressure in the exhaust? Later.

it seems to be closest to the winshield, so it wouldnt be the heatshield.

Sounds like maybe a broken flex pipe & a leak, either around the flex pipe or cat, maybe?
