I bent my old trunk latch and now i have the new one on there, but the trunk won't close. The latch assembly works properly but when i close the trunk it doesn't seem to latch on to the metal bar for whatever reason. I need this to work and my Helm's can't help me now. ANY SUGGESTIONS, i need help. Thanks.

I think the problem is that the latch on the trunk must have accidently closed before you closed it. I had this happen one time. . When you try to close it does it make a loud noise???

Best thing to do is stick your key in the lock on the truck and open it. Then try to close it. I think this will solve your problem. If not let me know and I will see if I can come up with anything else.

thanks for the help, but that isnt the problem. From the inside of the car i can see that the latch is closing around the striker but it won't stay shut for whatever reason and when i stick a screwdriver in there, the latch closes around it perfectly. It seem aligned properly and i can't f***in figure this damn thing out, help.

Bring the assembly closer to the bottom of the trunk lid so more of the latch goes around the hook.
