trunk gauge stuck?

hey guys. i recently got a shop to put a flip flop trunk on my car which didnt fit so they had to put my trunk back on normal. well i have a 4th generation and now my trunk light up front says the trunk is open even though its not and it wont turn off. any ideas on how to fix it?

i understand what he's trying to say but, you mean the door lights that light's up in the dash or a seprate light that says trunk....

yes, there is a red light on the dash with a silhouette of a car with the trunk open that comes on. i accidentally hit the trunk release with my foot while getting out of the car sometimes and it comes on.

there should be a little plugger switch somewhere along the edge of the trunk. you could try and have a friend push it while your in the car and see if its the switch thats out. im at school right now so i cant really tell you exactly where the switch is. this is how the doors work anyway.

i fixed it. i just slammed the trunk closed and now the light doesnt come on anymore. hhmm frustration payed off??
