TRUE JDM-style headlight wiring harness -info inside-

well, for those that saw my original thread.... and for those that haven't -

I have decided to go ahead and begin making my headlight wiring harnesses for the JDM one piece headlights. This will make them operate more like true JDM headlights:

H4 - low beam
H4 - high beam (wired properly! )
H1 - Daytime running light, with optional switch to turn them on even when headlights are on. They will turn off when the ignition turns off, and when you turn your headlights on.

I have mine wired like this, and I get lots of compliments. (I reccomend a 100W amber bulb for the H1). This wiring harness will be a DIRECT plugin, with clear instructions and lables. As well as a seperate harness for each side. Price is $55. if you are interested, Email me at:

SEANKREILLY@HOTMAIL.COM

thanks.

Two harnesses and a switch?
How's the switch mount?
Any pics of the final product?
And isn't that price a little bit high?

the costs of the parts is about 1/2 of that - and it will take a few hours per harness to make it into a quality piece.

The switch mounts however and where ever you'd like it. The switch is actually just an option - you can cut / tie off the switch wire if you don't think you'll ever want the H1 and H4 on at the same time.

sorry, I don't have any pics.

two harnesses = one per headlight.

I don't know how you'll sell them without being able to show people what you're selling?
If you're right about the parts cost and time investment, then the price is pretty good Just depends on how much your time is worth.

Just a thought... would it be possible to keep the H4 on low beam and have the H1 on high beam when you turn on the high beam? Like the stock USDM lights? If that's possible, I'd be interested once I get my JDM's.

Tola, you don't need any special harness or equipment to do what you explained.

This is the way my JDM's are hooked up and I like it because it functions just like our USDM lights.

My JDM's came with the H4 and H1 harnesses so I simply cut off the 9005 and 9006 harnesses and spliced the wires leading to the low beam into the H4 harness and the high beam wires into the H1 harness. Then I just plugged the harnesses into the bulb sockets and it works the way I intended it to.

It's very easy and CLEAN to install the lights this way.

ok, what I want is the H4 to be the low beam, but when you turn on the high beam, the H4 to go into high beam, PLUS the H1 to turn on. So, if anyone knows how to do that, I would appreciate it very much. email me: paul331@usfamily.net

I believe this is what JDM lude is offering. His package will have the H1 as a daytime running light which shuts off when either the low or high beam is turned on but they will also be hooked up to a switch that will turn them on while you have the H4 high/low beam on. You should get in touch with him because he can sell you what you are looking for.

Mark, I know what you are saying. That is how our stock headlights hook up. However, what I meant was hook it up like JDM Lude's way, but except for the H4 to going into high beam, let that stay in low and have the H1 go on high beam (like USDM). And still be able to run the H1 as DRL and still have the switch to keep it on while the headlight is turned on... you follow me? If that's not possible, I will be hooking it up like you Mark.

That is my schematic...

That is my schematic...
Um... I think people who want to do it them selves can look at that schematic.

Total you need is 2 relays and one switch.

This is how it works. You turn on your head lights normally and the low beam shines. You turn on your Hi beams normally and the Hi beam shines. You turn on the switch and the foglight/driving lights turn on.

SIMPLE and STRAIGHT forward. Just use your light combo switch like you normally would with the USDM headlights.

I understand what you are saying now. Sorry for the misunderstaning. Hopefully JDM Lude has the answer to your question.
