True Frustration - Honda Prelude Forum

Hey guys,

I have been looking around for an H22 swap for some time now and I wanted to share with you a new and frustrating development.

I e-mailed JDM Engine Dynamics, their a small two man front clip importer and he replies with this:

"We have an entire JDM Prelude front clip coming in. Price for the engine,
tranny with LSD, ecu, axles, and shiftlinkage is $2500. Price for the whole
clip including dash body panels etc.. is $3200. Price for H22a longblock is
$1600.

The problem is that I only have $2000 and that would completely tap me out.

Just wanted to share in my frustration.

Well see the trick in this is that I can go and see the engine and pick it up myself rather than paying to have it shipped. I had been planning on going down to Hmotorsonline and picking one up when I had the money saved up but since they are an hour away from my house it makes it so nice.

I decided that if I am going to get a transmission with the engine it will have to come with a LSD. I can't justify the extra cost when my H23 tranny will work fine.

Oh well I guess I will have to wait until after I get my tax return back. I love education tax credits. You can't argue with a $2500 tax return

I don't know about your future financial situation, but you had better keep on saving.... unless you can finance this deal. In a lot of places, you can finance EVERYTHING, even your first born. How determined are you?
