Trip Odometer Doesn't Work!

I bought my car and the trip odometer never worked. The total mileage odometer works, but the trip is stuck on zero's. It tries to move up when driving, and has a distinct click click sound trying to go up, but it can't. Does anyone know how to fix it or does anyone have this problem?

Just be glad your timing tensioner hasn't failed!

i know how to fix it, easy. take a 10mm socket wrench and hit your dash. repeat until one of two things happen.

1: your trip odometer starts working.

2: your dash is in small pieces and you cant tell what the trip odometer is, there for, making it impossible to prove that its stuck.

Hahha

I PULLED and PUSHED the damn knob **** like crazy. It still won't move. Should I take my dash off just to fix it or should I just leave it as is? Would the trouble be worth it?

Same thing with my car. 571 and halfway between the 5 and the 6 tenths mark. Been that way for almost a year now.

Just turn up the radio...

It Works Now!!!

Somehow the damn thing decided to work. After I pulled and pushed the damn thing odometer thing, I went home and took a nap. I went out again a few hours later and I checked my odometer after driving for a while, and it was actually at 11 miles. It somehow worked. Thanks a lot for the suggestions guys! I appreciate it a lot. Thanks!
