Tried Diagnostic paper clip trick but weird code

I'm currently having a problem with my ABS (fairly sure its a wheel speed sensor) So I found the blue plug and put a paper clip in it, then I put the key in but it didnt seem to give the code I was expecting.

The ABS light will lit up for about 2 seconds, then off for 2 seconds then it flashed three times with 5 seconds in between each flash. Does that mean the code is 1-1-1? I'm confused by this code.

Visual representation:
1 = on for one second
- = off for one second

11--1-----1-----1-------------------------------------

Code 1, pump motor overrun. This code means multiple things, first try bleeding the high pressure side of the ABS modulator, if nothing happens when you open the bleeder then your pump is shot and you no longer have ABS. A new modulator is pretty expensive and even when they do work it's a 1st gen ABS system, it's not great.

Well damn... thats not good news lol. Yeah if this ABS is shot, I'm going going to fix it unless I can source a used one for cheap. No way I'm buying another one brand new.

I've been driving without it for years, it's just in fail safe mode and acts like conventional brakes.

why didnt you just bring it to autozone and have them put the diagnostic on it.. most people cannot find the plug.. if you have one it will be located under the drinkholder

The reason is simple. I have OBDI so they can't use the machine. They only do that for OBDII cars (1996+)

Just before I came across this I was bored and came across the following link. There's a chance that it may be the same ABS unit as the Prelude.

Fix your ABS system for $1.51 - no gimmicks - Honda-Tech
