Transmissions(Gearing)

Is the info on hondaprelude.com accurate on the transmission stats?? Is there a difference between the Vtec transmissions and the SI transmissions?? I was looking for a Vtec transmission and they are almost impossible to find(except JDM) But SI transmissions are everywhere. is there any difference.? I know My transmission for the Base(S) 92 prelude is geared loooooong so im trying to gear it down a bit. ANyone got any info??

Yes, there are slightly different gearing. The VTEC will rev higher at a given speed to what the Si will be at at the same speed. The VTEC gearbox is designed to use all of the H22's power.

THe difference between the Si and VTEC gearing is very slight, I would say unnoticeable, and I have driven both extensively.

You might as well just get the Si transmission, you'll get a better price and unless you want a LSD, it should be more than satisfactory compared to the S transmission.
