Transmissions!!

What would be more effective.
I currently have a Prelude S SOHC(soon Turbo-9psi) I currently run 17 flat at LACR bone stock. With the stock transmission i can prolly pull 90-93mph(maby not im going to have to test it out) in 3rd gear. 15 sec 1/4 mile is about 92 mph. Would this transmission be more effective than a Si or Vtec?? Im guessing it's better for a 15 sec car but if i wanted to go under 15 it would slow me down. Or maby not. ANyone got any info??

turbo F22's can actually be pretty strong. Get a mild cam and it will do pretty good.

FYI the S gears are REALLY long. I had a '92 S and put an SI transmission in it... it made the gears short as hell. If you are going turbo I'd keep the tranny you got unless you want to spin to 4th gear

The VTEC gearing is better for the 1/4 mile.

The Si is a bit higher.

S

Well the F22 is actually a pretty amazing engine. Unlike the H22 it has more Torque than HP. It has 142@4000 and only 135@5200 HP. I still think its under rated in HP. I do a 17 flat in the 1/2 when the Si's run 16 and the Vtec a 15 if lucky. The SI has 156@4500 Torque and the Vtec has 158@5500. Thats not such a big difference. My car is also lighter with this engine.

The transmission DOES have very long gears which as i see it will be very benificial for me running a Turbo. I run the 1/4 now without shifting into 4th and i still got alot of gear left.

I have been told with the F22 i can get it up past 200 WHP easily.
Its going to cost me 3500$ for a T3/T4 turbo Rev Hard kit and full install. And its going to cost me 3500$ for a JDM h22 without install and shipping. And the H22 will give me 200 at the Flywheel which is only like 160 or somthing at the wheels. For the price the turbo will be more bang for my buck and i can upgrade the engine to H22 and reuse my turbo if i were to get bored or if i blew my f22.
