Transmission Shift Arm Assembly

Hello,

Can some one tell me how to install the bolt inside the shift arm assembly that secures the shift lever. My original bolt fell out so I purchased a new one and lock washer, but there does not appear to be any threads for the bolt.

The shift lever has a bolt and a nut on the other side to secure it.

thanks for the assistance. I should have mentioned I have a 92 Prelude Si. The bolt I am referring to is inside the shift assembly cover and the bolt goes through the shift arm and into the shift lever. It is shown on page 13-12 of the service manual. The threads may have been stripped out. I do not believe there is a nut involved. The lock washer is supoosed to hold the bolt in place. I tried to take the shift arm out after removing the interlock bolt but the arm does not slide out. I may be forced to tap the holefor new threads if I can not remove the shift arm so I can replace the shift arm with the bad threads.

I tried to attach a picture. The shaft runs from right to left. The bolt that fell out goes in the hole the arrow is pointing to. The service manual does not show anything else holding the shaft in, but it will not come out even after hitting with a hammer.

it do have a hole... where the shifter wires goes (the one on your left standing in front of the passenger tire)...
just play with it... it needs to be vertical... move it inside and outside... or maybe you need to flip

about the other screw and washer... do you remove them from the inside of the tranny?

My apologies. I though you were referring to the shift lever on the interior cabin of the car.
