transmission fluid

hey luders,

just wondering, where is the tranny fluid holder/container in a 4th gen SI lude? thanks

Remove the front passenger side wheel. There's a fill and drain bolt visible on the transaxle cover. To change the fluid some kind of pump is recommended, change the washers too.

damn dude i never thought about taking the tire off. it was pretty hard to get at the filler plug with the wheel on.

or you can just put it up on jack stands or ramps. Then open up the drain plug.(lower one) And to refill it(upper one)...get a funnel with a long tube on it so it will reach the hole to refill it. I just stretched the tube all the way through the top of the engine bay and started pouring down the funnel.

about 2 quarts...actually its a little more like 2.1 or something. which isnt a big difference.
