Tranny won't shift to reverse after rearm
my tranny was grinding in 5th when I shift fast (at high rpm)... but it worked in all the gears...
so I removed the tranny to change the clutch and check the tranny
1-the clutch had a spring loose and other about to come out..
that could be the grinding?
however, i decided to open the tranny to check it.. and it looked fine, no metal perticles around, all the gears seems to be good...
when closing it my friend (i looked most of the time) was having problems with the stopper ring getting out of position...
after closing it, he shift it and looked fine...
after I install it in the car... it wont go to 5th and reverse, from the inside it only picked 3rd but in the tranny it picked 1st, 2nd and 3rd...
i opened the shift arm and it shift all except reverse
2-to close the tranny the stopper ring, reverse shift fork and syncros need to be in a specific positon? (that could be the cause of that)
3-if i move the driveshafts fast it sounds like if there were a losen ball somewere (just installed one driveshaft).. reverse idler gear?
4-if i move the crank while the tranny is in gear.. the driveshaft dont make any movement..??
5-the release fork need to have a bit of free play when you move it from side to side?
