tranny swap

i am going to convert to manual soon....i got a daily driver now so i dont need the auto anymore i have a spare car thankfully....i got all the linkage and other needed stuff for the auto/manual swap...all i need is a tranny and ecu....will an accord tranny fit my h22? i am going to need a p13 ecu though but i need to know about the tranny

Yes it will, but the gearing would be absolute crap. The F22 gears are LOOOONNNNGGG compared to the H22 or even the H23.

would a h23 tranny be better to swap in? this is going on i cant find a h22 tranny keep in mind

The h23 would be much better than the F22 tranny, unless you're going F/I with gobs of power.

alright so h23 is better than f22...is h22 better than h23? i know the h22 was made for the motor but i am not sure if the gearing in the h23 is better or not

The H22 does have slightly shorter gearing which translates to better acceleration. There are also people who have the VTEC motor with the H23 tranny that say they drop out of VTEC when shifting from 1st to 2nd. That could easily be fixed however with a VAFC.

F22 tranny << H23 Tranny < H22 tranny

Why the debate on not just getting a h22 tranny. If you are doing a full swap you can get ecu, tranny and engine all together from most places.

i had a si auto...swapped to jdm h22 auto and now going to 5 speed....i was talking so someone and they said he might be able to get me an accord tranny for free....thats why i asked but after finding the info i needed i am going to wait and see if i can get the h22 tranny and ecu
