Tranny Grinding

First off I'll tell yall what I got:
1993 Prelude Si, Si Tranny, F22B

the tranny grinds almost everytme i upshift into 3rd gear. even if i shift smooth and kinda slow it still does it. the only way i can get it to not grind is f i spend atleast 2-3 seconds on the shift and by that time the RPMs have dropped andit's jerky letting the clutch out. Anyone have any ideas?

I would probably say synchro. 3rd is usually the first to wear out. Try double clutching when shifting into 3rd and see if it still grinds. If it does it is not the syncro is could be that you need a new master cylinder.

Stick Redline Fluid in your tranny, it does amazing things.

if youve gotta leaky master cyl, then youre more than likely puttin extra stress on your synchros. take car of that first, then youll have to pull and rebuild your tranny to fix the grind, i imagine.

my 92 si is doing the same thing grinding from 2nd to 3rd.

i'm pretty damn quick at going 2 to 4 (but not engaging) then strait up to 3 works very well, no grinding, but a little more of a hassle. i'm thinking about rebuilding it, depending on the price of gears / synchros / already rebuilt tranny...

I have a '94 Si tranny for sale with 110k miles on it if anybody wants one to rebuild and not have any down time. I did a H22 swap and when this one came out I was having trouble shifting at high RPMs. Shifted fine under normal driving. Don't know what the prob is. Might need rebuilt or it might be another prob, not sure, I'm not a tranny man. I'm thinking $250 negotiable. Let me know.
