i just got back from the track...i was there for 4 hours and got all of 1 run out of it...anyway here are my times...very upsetting but i did have an exhaust leak and HORRIBLE lauch (1500 launch)
so what do you guys think? i really messed up on the launch but with the auto i can only launch at 2800 max...what do you guys think if i were able to get a better 60' you think i would be able to knock into high 14s?
my mods:
JDM H22
AEM CAI
GReddy SS header
test pipe
GReddy SP cat-back
Mugen thermostat
jdm tranny i guess its different...i can rev up to 2800 but when i launch, what little torque i have pushes you back and then the car dies for a second............than takes off...arg i hate auto

Good times none the less. What's the elevation where you raced?
Originally posted by LudedudeSi I think with a 5 speed you would be around mid to low 14s.
PS: I would keep the lude and not buy that GM. im sorry but its fugly.
i have a crashed lude i got all the 5 speed parts needed for 300...all i need is a clutch and flywheel and i am set...i am not sure if this is worth it
tranny, ecu, auto/manual parts - $300
clutch - $320
flywheel - ~$400
install/conversion - $600
total - $1620
end result - 14.2 second car at best...i am not sure i want to drop that much money and not that great of a result out of it...14.2 is good but its not 13.2
save yourself 600 and do the job yourself, if you have the time that is. it'll probably take you 2 days or so but you'll have more money to blow on something else. that's just my opinion though, i would never send my car to a garage to get something i could do (or at least try to do) myself no matter how frustrating it is....
just keep in mind, its not the easiest thing in the world, hopefully your parts are usdm, that should save you some agrevation. it was kind of hard extending some of the lines (clutch) to reach from the right hand side.

The best thing that happened to my Lude was my tranny swap. Fun factor just skyrocketted the day I completed my swap. Although swapping it is b!tch but very worth it! Overall it took me 3 days by myself (well I had help during the last phase cuz the damn tranny was so heavy ). But yea it can be done in 1.5-2 days with an assistant beside you all the time. Convert it, do it yourself, and rip the benefits of driving a 5 speed; Not to mention shave off at LEAST .5 sec off your 1/4 mile time

stock torque converter...level ten makes a torque convertor upgrade that will let you rev up to 3500 and when you lauch there is no "auto stall"...its 500 plus shipping both ways (you have to send them your stock converter) if you want to stick with auto that is the best way to go

levelten makes good stuff for autos and if you are going to stay auto i would recomend going to them...if you need a JDM tranny i will be selling mine soon
