Too much oil..?! consequences?

Hey all,

Well i have noticed for the past 2-3 days my car has been smoking !! .. sad day in ludeville.. well i'm trying to get this taken care of, i'm going to buy a new car but keep this one still and i want functionality, so i figured i'd check my oil level and it turns out, its way high!!! i got my oil changed last at walmart.. i guess that was a mistake, and now i'm smoking, i just want to know if having too much oil in there will cause it to smoke.. burning the oil?! i'm not sure what color it is.. because its minimal but is this something probable? thanks for the advice guys..!

i'd say you might just be burning off the excess oil. my friend's civic does that. he used to fill it back up to the full until he noticed it would only burn down to halfway between the two holes and stop. anywhere between is still good
