usually when my cel comes on for vtec oil pressure solenoid.. it usually means i need oil

so one day i just added oil or whatever.. and it turns out it was too much.

i guess i didnt know, and after a few weeks, i see that my tranny housing (where the id label is) is pretty much soaked with oil. (well i hit vtec a lot recently and got it kinda back down to optimal areas)

but is that normal to have oil on the tranny housing if you have too much oil in your engine?

it might be coming from a cam seal, valve cover seal, or somewhere else. I would just clean the oil off really well, then inspect it after you drive and see where its coming from.

You shouldn't be driving your car with too much oil

. Just get a jack, jack it up, and drain a little oil out.
