My Goodyear Eagle GT POS's are wearing down and are almost at the end of their tread life. I hated these tires, they were tooooo soft and I could peel through first and halfway through second without trying. And one night I was starting uphill on this major hiway, and the tires wouldn't even grip just b/c it was raining. And yes, I drive a 5 speed - nothing but. I had looked at some Yokohama's and heard some bad reviews about them. I also looked at the Bridgestone Potenza RE730's and they looked great but does anyone know if they work as good as they say they do? I am putting these on my 1993 Si all around. What kinda tires does everyone else have that they would recommend?

I'm running NITTO 450's, great tires with lots of grip, I realy gotta romp on 'em to spin out, great wet traction too, an dalot cheaper then the brands you just mentioned

The RE730's live up to their name. Wet, dry, drag, autocross, anything you can throw at them they can handle. They're great tyres, I've driven my friends civic Si w/ those on there, and wow.. they're a hundred times better than my FZ4's. They're not too pricy as far as performance tyres go. The only others I'd recommend (if you have the money) are Toyo Proxes T1S's, or Bridgestone Pole Position's (s02 or s03).

Check the reviews on tirerack that people have sent in about the RE730's.

I have the Yoko A520's. They have great traction wet or dry, but they are noisy tires. The best feature they have is the way they fit on the wheel. The sidewalls stick just enough to protect the rim. I rubbed a couple of curbs and luckily the concrete rubbed the tire instead of my aftermarket rim.

When the time comes to buy 4 new ones, I don't plan on sticking with the Yokos. Are the Bridgestone or NITTO's mentioned quiet tires? I was also contemplating on getting a set of Pirelli Super Sport, but I've had a set of their lower end model, the P600. Those were so noisy that I took them back to my local tire shop the very next day for an exchange.
