Tired of the engine want something reliable!

Ok guys i need some help... about a year ago i tried the whole h23vtec thing (big mistake ) i didnt know what the hell i was doing and i didnt have enough money to do it right ( now i know ) so im looking at getting a new engine. However i have a lot of parts on this engine that i wouldnt mind parting with so what do you guys suggest ... part the engine out and sell it piece by piece or sell it as a whole? im trying to get some money together to get a complete changeover from HMotors.com ($2200). I dont expect to get 2200 for this engine but i wouldnt mind getting some of the money i spent back and hopefully be close to buying this engine within the next month. Here's a list of things i have on the engine. The engine runs but im running it as an auto and its just not reliable so yea im trying to get the h22 complete changeover from HMotors..

1. GoldenEagle intake manifold (100mm opening; made custom plate to reduce it to 70 mm and added a mustang gt throttlebody)
2. Type S pistons ( i have only used this car about 7000 miles since i redid the engine )
3. Vtec head
4. Ractive header
5. AEM fuel rail
6. and i guess the h23 bottom end

I spent lots of money on just the extra stuff required like the oil pump, head bolts, new bearings, and who knows what the hell else but let me know what i should do guys or some suggestions. Thanks

Parting things out, typically makes you more then selling products as a whole, so thats your best bet. Ebay is decent, but if you dont wanna get screwed set a mildly low reserve. I just sold a Like new $800.00 turbocharger for $200.00 because i forgot to set a reserve and now im forced to actually ship it because the guy paid. Don't rip yourself off, get what you know the parts are worth. Good luck

Thanks that kinda what i was thinking ( parting out ) .... anyone have any suggestions on what i should do engine-wise? should i get the vtec h22 or should i look for an h23? i love the torque my h23 had and it really would move and one let down i had with this build was that the car didnt perform as well as my h23 although it did have that high end power ... i dont know..... anyone have suggestions or where i can find the engine (COMPLETE no screwing around with finding extra parts) for a good price ?? Hmotors.com has complete changeover for 2200

what was so unreliable about it? just swap in an h22 crank shaft and then you have a regular h22..

i have an auto trans... im running two ecu's because for some reason it wouldnt work with the jdm ecu i bought( that was 150 bucks damn!) and the gas mileage is killing me!!!! my car drinks gas and 2.20 per gallon is hurting my wallet. also the engine bay is extremely hot for some reason and so my alternator wires and other things were melting causing me not to be able to use the damn car for pretty much this whole past year. its just a pain in the ass especially when my car used to be so good on gas and so reliable whereas after the swap it has all changed.......

Just get a h22 bottom end. Put all ur stuff on it, and ur good to go. Why spend 2200 on a motor when u have 1/2 of it already? All u really need is the block. Plus putting in Type S pistons on a high-milage motor is very-un-wise. You will burn oil like crazy. Anyhow... if u decide on getting the full change-over i would take the h22 head off the motor use ur head and ur parts and sell the stock h22 head for like 300-400. and then sell the h23 block.

osaka motors you can get a jdm h22 for 1150 shipped, but no tranny and ecu, who needs that when you already have an h23
