Going to go look at a 96 SI this week for my wife. Was wondering if any of you owner/experts had any advice as to what things to look for that are specific to the 4th Gen Lude that may be presently, or future troublespots. Thanks for any input!
I wouldn't trust carfax it didn't bring up the accident I had with my car. If you are leaving the car completly stock a 96 is fine. If you want to mod the car at all you might want to get a 93-95(obd1) vtec model.
Carfax certified, but I don't trust it either. I did a carfax on my wifes old CRX, 3 major crashes didn't show up, the final total of it didnt either since we bought it back. Sad so many people trust them to be all knowing.
I know they are hard to find but unless you are going to go turbo you probablly won't be happy with a s/si and will probally dump an jdm h22a in later so just find the vtec model right away and save yourself the hassel and money
If the trim below the rear window is kinda rusted, dont worry. . .that is almost a UNIVERSAL problem among 4th gens and rarely leads to any serious problems (it just looks bad). Look for maintenece records. . .the timing belt should have been replaced around 60K or so.

I'm very happy with my Si.

This Lude is for the wife, will probably remain stock. I'll keep dumping money into my 99 though!
