timing belt tension

ok im debating if i should install my own cam gears or have someone a little more experienced do it for me. i can take the valve cover off and all that and i believe i can take the side cover off too. doesnt look that challenging but i have never tried it. what im wondering is, is there a bolt or tension screw for the timing belt or does it just need to be slid off and then slid back on.
also any input or advice from someone who has done this would be greatly appriciated.

It's not really as simple as it looks. There is a bolt to release the tension, but you'd need to take off your crank pully and lower you engine to get to it. and getting the belt back on is a PITA. If you slip up, you gotta make sure everything is back to the right timing.

I wouldn't attempt to do this without the manual. I just did my timing belt in about 15 hours . But if you feel that you are capable of doing it and you have the right tools, go for it.
