Timeing Belt?

I have 75K miles on my '92 4ws 2.3L. When should I change the Timeing belt, and how much does it cost?

honda recommends changing it every 90k miles, i change it about every 60-70k just to be safe. i would definitely go ahead and get it replaced if you have the cash. your looking at about 2hrs labor + parts. its also a good idea to replace the water pump and all the accessory belts while your at it, of course thats more $$$$. you for sure want to avoid valve train damage, then your looking at well over a 1k in repairs.

agree, anytime after 75k miles is good time to change timing belt, along with water pump, tensioners, and other belts...one time labor for all is better than paying them separately

but make sure you go to a reliable shop, i just changed mine and the shop didn't do a good job and i ended up have to spend extra to go to another shop to fix it right

I just got my timing belts replaced, that's with a new water pump and oil seals for 530.

Do you REALLY need to change the waterpump? Or the timing belt is all you need.

It's a good idea to change the water pump at the same time, since it is driven by the Timing belt. If the water pump were to seize up then that could mean catostropic damage to the valvetrain. Plus it's just easier to do it while you are in behind the timing cover anyway as a preventitive measure, less expensive should something happen.
