Tiger Japanese Engines

I ordered a H23A1 engine from the above in Toronto. Advertised as JDM.

That was last April. Now I see it is an Accord engine from the EDM.
Are these guys crooked or just incompetent?
I have not contacted them yet. Thought I would post here first.

I only just got around to changing the engine from the 1992 Prelude.
I did not notice any difference till I went to buy a knock sensor and a cap

Any thoughts would be welcome, even if I am dumb for trusting people.
The number is H23A3.
I had it shipped to a repair shop at first and later picked it up cause they backed out of the re and re job.

I've basically only heard bad things about Tiger-- bad engines, defaulting on warranties, etc. I think they're a little of both. Again, not from experience, but friends and such.

Is it already in your car?

First of all I would never trust anyone that advertises H23A1 as JDM. That is ridiculous. stay the hell away!

as far as the H23A3 goes:
H23A3 was put in the European version of normal Accord from 1993 to 1995. The car was described as 2.3iSR.
This is basically the same engine as H23A1 (US Prelude) and H23A2 (European Prelude).

H23A3 was also found in the European 1992-1996 Rover 623 SLi, GSi, and iS.

So a JDM engine would be H23A, no number?
I do not think my ECM would work with this engine. Would it?

I was referring to section K of their warranty posted on their website which says all engines are guaranteed to be JDM.
Their customer service could hardly be worse, starting with a spokes person with a thick foreign accent mostly not understandable. Typical in Canada now.
I thought I was being careful, asked questions, but not enough evidently.
So in short their warranty is no good, customer service non existent, product not as ordered or advertised.

No, the 92-96 Prelude Si equivalent motor in Japan is called F22B.

H23A is Japanese also, but it was not featured on Preludes. There is also a vtec version on H23A.

My friend ordered a motor from them, nothing good came out of it. Had issues with the motor, no refund.

I've bought a 96+ zc, d15b vtec-e and a d trans, all good, and obviously very low milage (machining still visable on flywheel and pressure plate.). But none of their transmissions are labeled for their own sorting, LSD or non LSD, that's about it, so you have no idea what ratios your getting. Got an DOHC VTEC F20B who's plugs came out black :-/ going into a 92 si 4ws. Wish me luck!
