Hey guys, I have a topic posted on b20vtec already (
Throttle issue with F22B1 - B20Vtec.Com...... B Series and Beyond) but I thought I'd check here since this site is Prelude specific. Basically what's happening is the car starts and operates normally, good idle and all. While its in park I the engine revs properly and everything is cool. The problem starts when I turn on the A/C or engage the transmission. The car accelerates fine but once I hold the throttle the RPM starts to bounce. I've checked for Vaccum leaks, checked my electricals, changed ECU, etc..if you check my post on B20 it details the stuff I already checked. Here's a video I made of what happens:
YouTube - Prelude Throttle Issue (F22B1)
Here is my setup:
93 Prelude A/T
Engine: F22B1 (VTEC engine off Accord EX)
Using Prelude Alternator and Distributor
ECU from 94 Accord EX (VTEC P0A)
Pretty much everything engine is off the accord
I am using the prelude wire harness which is identical to that of the Accord.
The only difference I have noticed is the Prelude distributor has an external coil and the one off the Accord is internal. There is no place to attach the prelude coil to the block but I have grounded it for testing and it didn't make a difference.
Also, I checked the voltage level because someone had suggested a voltage drop and here are the results of the test:
14.4v while parked with no load
14.3v when AC is turned on
13.8v when Transmission is engaged
12.6 when both AC and Trans are engaged
Check engine codes which I have recieved;
Code 1 (my o2 sensor is a little roasted but that shouldn't be an issue)
Code 14 (the IACV switch throws code due to powersteering note being hooked up)
Code 15 (Ignition signal error..not sure why I got this one but it went away on its own and problem still presists.)
Code 22 (I don't have the VTEC pressure switch hooked up yet because I have a JDM VTEC solenoid)
Thanks in advanced for any help..this thing is driving me nuts.
