Throtle position sensor...

i called up a local honda dealership and asked them about replacing my throtle position sensor and they said that i would have to replace the entire throtle body.. is this true or are they sayin that to try and get the best of me

this is friggin embarissing with my idle going like between 1,000 - 2,000 rpms back and forth.

also some people told me that bleeding the radiator fluid will fix the idle problem but i asked one of my friends who is a mechanic and he said it won't fix the idle im confused

thanks

sounds like a vacuum leak to me. TPS probably wouldn't cause it to do that.

Yes, you would have to buy a whole new TB to get a TPS.

When did this start happening? Did you swap engines? Change the TB?

This happened to me after i swapped my motor, but I also swapped TB's from one motor to the other and had to re-adjust the TPS and idle...

Its very easy to adjust, hit me up on AIM @ AbsolutDSL and I can explain it.

you can buy just teh sensor, you dont have to buy an entire throttle body, is your CEL on if so pull back your passanger side carpet and look at your ecu and see what it is blinking.
I have the same problem and i think it can be a few things one other is the fast idle something valve...

yes i know the cel is not on the ecu its self thank you, on some models there is a little window on the ECU and when it throws a code it blinks in a pattern to produce a single or 2 digit number......
