For those of you who have installed 4bidden shifter

I'm installing the short shifter right now and having a problem. I'm re-assembling the lever pivot assembly and one of the bolts will not go through. There are two holes on the side of the shifter and the one that I'm having a problem is the side that has a little short arm. I can see something sticking out (from that little arm) and the bolt stops there. Did any of you have that problem? If so, how did you manage that?

I don't want to force the bolt because I can damage the bolt thread. The only way will be to drill the hole and get rid of that extra metal piece????

Actually wait! Take the bolt out and look down in there and see if there is a piece of metal hanging in there. Sometimes there will be a little piece of metal hanging right there from where the side hole is drilled for the short arm you are talking about. If you can push the bolt hard enough to break it off you will be fine. Or you can send it back and I'll send you out another one and refund you whatever you paid to ship that one back to me.

I did look inside the hole and saw a piece of meatl hanging there. I didn't push the bolt hard because I was afraid that the bolt thread will get damaged. If you're sure that I won't damage the thread, I will try.

Well, use whatever you can to try and remove the little snag of metal...screwdriver...whatever. Or you can send it back like I said. I'm sorry about that man....never had that problem before.

Is your car really MR Josh? I just got a couple shifters done in red, you might be interested in one of those. I only got one left though. No pictures of it though since the batteries for my digicam disappeared.

I saw the little picture of it on your website. Looks really nice, but how much of the shifter do you actually get to see once there's a boot and knob on there?

AFAIK, yes, it's Milano. It has had a new paint job by the previous owner but I think he got it matched to factory color. It definitely LOOKS milano anyway.

When you used to have it in your sig it looks burgundy or something.

There are no pics of the MR shifters on the site?? And no, you wont see any of it once its installed, but its the thought that counts!

That old pic was taken with a VERY low quality camera in addition to having poor lighting. Believe me, my car's not burgundy.

If it's not on forbiddenmotorsports.com, then was I hallucinating 10 minutes ago??

I found an old similar size of bolt, so I forced it in by tapping with the hammer and it's fine now.

I just set it to the highest (race) setting and had a test drive. With my "precision" eyeballing, the distance between 1st and 2nd gears changed from about 7" to 4". Since I forgot to bring the dremel from work to cut the plastic boot base, I will have to finish everything up next weekend. I've got a new boot from Redlinegoods and a Momo knob, so only 50% done so far.

Upon further inspection of this recent batch of shifters, there was a defect with that hole. I apologize for neither me or the machine shop catching this before your shifter getting shipped.

They have all now been fixed and this will no longer be an issue.
