For those of you that are planning to sell your 4th Gen...
For those of you that are considering to sell your 4th Gen, really considering all angles before deciding to move on. It's been a month since my girl has been sold... and I'm still missing it. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my G35 Coupe... but there's something about the 4th Gen Prelude that has me running back to it. Whether it be the interior... the way the car drives... or just the overall appearance of the vehicle... I'm missing it. Maybe it'll fade in a few months... but the feeling has been growing stronger in the last few days.
All my friends think I'm crazy... and even possibly the most depressing G35 coupe owner they have ever seen... but I already have plans of building another 4th Gen. VTEC (only the VTEC model) Prelude that will surpass the one I had before. I still have a few parts lying around that I'm going to place in storage.
With the knowledge that I already have with 4th Gen VTEC Preludes, I'll be able to complete one for a decent cost. It won't be another few years before I'll be able to buy another 4th Gen VTEC... but believe me when I say... it's not over between me and the 4th Gen Preludes.

Ken, like I posted before on my previous posts about 4th gen ludes, it's just an attachment that is hard to give up. The car is rare first of all, and the compliments I have gotten on the car is amazing.
I felt like this when my car was in the shop for a long ass time. Just something about it, that makes you feel good.
I often sit in my car, look around and say damn ... I love this car!
The stylish dash and the way everythingis where you need it within reach ... the seats are SO comfy.. i was in my gf's 97 cavalier (no flames... she gets enough heat from me ) I couldnt figure where to sit ... after that annoying day of driving around I hopped in my lude and it was orthopedic.
I know... all of you warned me about it... but getting $7K for the lude at the time seemed like the right thing to do. And I really thought the G35 coupe could take its place...
Maybe it's because I don't have the bond with the G yet... no doubt its more comfortable and better handling then the Prelude. But the Prelude has grown so much into me in the 5 years that I owned it... I'm still missing it
What's done is done... and the kid that bought it already got into a small accident with it. Someone scraped against the passenger side door when it was parked at school. Once the G is paid off.. it's on... Hopefully, I'll be able to find a VTEC lude then for about 5K... and strip everything out of it.
Start completely fresh

ya i have pretty much decided that when the urge comes to get a new car, im gonna keep the lude and just save up longer for the new car. i dunno, but i dont think that 7000 is enough for my car. i have put so much time and effort, that almost nobody (except people on this board maybe ) could appreciate the end product. add to that the sentimental value, and i think id need about 19,5 for it to make it worth my while well im glad that you are gonna be gettin another one, and congrats on your g35 too!

Straight trade for the prelude! But seriously the prelude is a great car the only other car ive owned was 91 civic so there was no comparison. Its nice to know that the prelude leaves you longing for something even in the nicer cars (G35).

Yeah Ken , I saw the area where it was scraped. We had a Prelude meet last Friday night...Quan is a cool guy , talked to him about stuff. Still a rookie
I felt the same way when I sold my 2nd gen teg and bought my prelude. But now the prelude has a hold of me. But i've driven my dad's G35 and I would drop the prelude in a second to put myself behind the wheel of "America's Skyline." You will probably get attached to every car you own (unless you have to buy a minivan for the kids or something), just give it sometime and I've sure you'll learn to love the sweet rumble of the G35 just as much as your prelude.
Now that I think about it, I actually bought my prelude from my dad when he got the G35. He hasn't even mentioned anything about missing the 'lude compared to the G. Although he does like my wheels and lights.
hey RedH22A1, keep an eye out for this kid for me will ya. He's still young and definitely still a rookie when it comes to cars.. both driving and modifications. I don't mind teaching the guy... but certain things he wants to do to the Prelude kinda scares me
I told him to keep me in mind when he does decide to sell the car... who knows... maybe I'll own it again one of these days

Let me tell you I still miss my lude too. Everytime I see a 4th gen I get all happy. I will be back to build another one. Me and my 8 have a small bond going on, but the lude was like my kid, so I had to let it grow up and become a man, but I am not done having kids yet
I hope to keep the Lude if the future allows...
Maybe retire it into a dedicated track car or something. It's just such a unique and beautiful design, not much else makes me turn my head the way it does.
