let me be the first to tell you that the jdm mirrors project is not an easy one. i have them on my lude, and they're still not operational (aside from the adjustability).

there is a lot of extra wiring to do, and not to mention working out the circuitry and everything else.

haha that unless you got the whole toy, and your too lazy to install. well the relay is supose to go on the passager side door. but most ppl just install it in teh center consule hidden away from it all. hmm ok i will post pics of my toys.

Mines work, but I'm using the Integra/Civic relay (So it the motor keeps going even when its alrdy folded). But anyways, I have my relay right under the switch in the center console like Midnkight lude said. (Since thats where I did all the saudering and connections).

OK i dont' have any picture of my **** at home. but i have the pictures from my e-bay BID. haha

The Switch with them lil button.

Ok the Blue box is the door and window controls. that controsl teh locks and how the windows move up and down. it is not compable with the USDM unit. cause i tried. and the windows would only roll down not up. and not lock itself :-p
Now the relay is that NICE black box. it has 7 wires coming out of it. w00t, yes seven not 5.

some more wires and the mirrors.

EVEN MORE wires

i paid a lot of money for this. maybe too much for some. but the reason i bought this set is because this is one of hte most complete set of JDM mirrors i have ever seen. This set came off a 92-93 prelude because it has teh armrest switch.

i have the whole setup, i tested the wiring yesterday and it works beautifully. they take exactly three seconds to fold. I will install them in about two weeks after i get them painted. i just wasn't sure where the relay should sit, is there a bracket for it inside the door? Or if i were to install it under the console, what can i fasten it into?

if you look at my relay you can see the brackets. there is a lil hole like the door control on the driver side. and ti will fit. all you need is that braket and screws.

did you look in the console or hte door? i would say the concole will allow you to run less wires then the door. but when i get off my lazy ass to do this mod. if i do it, i will run from the door, and get screws.

i searched under the console, directly and behind where the switch goes.....nothing that i could attach it to. as for the door, i didn't look too closely, after i removed the door panel, there was a plastic cover inside the door, it was getting late so i didn't remove it. I wanna attach that relay under the console. but how??

Also, a "silly" question from me: if i place that relay inside the door, the wiring distance from the relay to the driver side mirror is about 10 inches or less, but the wire i have to run for the passenger mirror will be about 7 ft. will both mirrors still retract simultaneously? or will the passenger side one be 'slow' to move?
sorry about the lack of electrical knowledge.

Do you have to have the relay from the prelude or is it possible to find a generic one from an electrical store?

i dont' think the mirrors will act slow. i dont' thinky our far enough away to make it act slow.... also the JDM is setup to be in passager door anyhow. and as for the console, there is really no place. some some place and zip tie it, cause your not likely to run into anything down there. just keep it away from teh shifter .

As for the relay question azjs, you dont' need a prelude relay, because the other honda ones will work also. but one guy says that his aren't workin as well with the relay. as for any other relay. if you search, most ppl just use the radio shack relay, but the real honda ones have a time delay on it. so that it stop after 3-4 secs, which will save the motor life, and if you press the button on the switch, it iwll close, and stay close and vice versa, while the radio shack one you have to hold it to keep it close.

i am still thinkiung about that also. the only problem is taht your using the stock relay, if you were to mod it to work. tel meeeee plz. but i bet you can set the alarm to send the relay a signal like the button is bein press, but the problem with running something like that, is that if your mirrors are in the close position, then your mirrors will open.

azjs:
no there is no US OEM part that i am aware of that works this way. you can search Ebay and they will ahve relays. if it is 7 pins it will be a 4th gen prelude, if it 5 pin it will be any other honda.

the only different between 5 and 7 is this. the 7 pin has one set of wire for the passager mirror and another set for the driver. if you use the 5 pin, you just double up on teh wires
