For those who installed the foglights...

I have a '93 Si and I'm woundering when you're installing the foglights... do you need the subharness thats noted on the parts needed. I have seen a few write-ups on this and none mentioned the subharness part (they mention installing the relay though). Does the harness come preinstalled and all you have to do is install the relay?

From what I remember no you do not need it, it's pretty much like an extention.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I am 95% sure you dont need it.

nope it's not needed
I actually redid the install of my fogs today cause there was a loose connection that needed finding, so i'm fresh o all this.
You just look WAYYY up under the steering column to find the relay harness which loooks identical to the security harness, so be careful to plug the relay into the right harness.

Yep. Take off the steering column cover under (plastic) then take off the knee cover metal right under the plastic. Then take off the drivers side air duct, it's this like 14 inch long plastic tube that supplies heat/A/C to the vent on the drivers door, it comes right off, in fact mine was somewhat off already. Afterwards look back and to the left side of the steering wheel and you'll see a brown harness with some tape on it, at least mine had blue tape on it, even if yours doesn't just look at the colors on that manual I posted before. There's no need for a sub-harness. Simply go to Autozone and pick up a Pilot relay for their fog lights, they cost 3.99. Then just plug that in there, it'll hang hang half an inch, but it's fine.

I mainly used that manual to cut my bumper, mount my fog lights, and open them to change my bulbs.

I left my harness blue taped so it wouldnt hang, but for a long time I had the relay in the security harness and couldnt figure out why my fogs wouldnt turn on.

Subharness is to make things plug and play - you don't need it at all.
