Thinking of making these in mass production - would anyone buy them?

I'm thinking of making my headlight wiring harness in mass production, in a direct plug-in way. Here is the result:

----- H1 ------

- Wired to the ignition as a daytime running light.

- H1 turns off when you turn your headlights on (H4).

- A switch on the dash (or switch blank on center console, like mine) will bypass that relay, so that if you want headlights and the H1 on at the same time, you can.

- When you hit the high beam, the H1 will turn on as well, so EVERYTHING turns bright (H1, and H4 high beam)

----- H4 ------

- low beam and high beam. (PROPERLY - low beam filament turns off when high beam turns on).

This would be a DIRECT plug in. US-spec harness to JDM headlights. Only hardpart is running through the firewall to the rocker switch (not included) that goes in the switch black in the center console.

This would be a high quality (equal length wires, loom, tight & pretty) harness. I'm thinking somewhere in the area of $50-$70.

Think theres a market?

I guess it would be a good thing to do.

However, I like the way mine are set up right now. H1 high beam and H4 low beam. It was very simple to connect and I didn't have to route wires through the engine bay, firewall, and console.

Try posting on other boards so you can gauge their reactions as well.

Mark

True JDM enthusiasts would probably be in the market for that sort of thing. Since their USDM Prelude would operate similarly to the JDM Prelude.

However, like Mark, I enjoy simplicity with the H1 as high beams and H4 as low beams. It's easy install with splicing the wires and the harness and no wires through the firewall and no need for switches.

I'm sure if you find some hardcore JDM enthusiasts that you'll be able to sell it. Good luck.

For $50 I'd buy it.

well if you try it yourself, keep in mind that the highbeam has a switched ground... the + side is constant from the lowbeam switch.

You might be able to make a deal with a company that imports JDM headlights.
