hey i painted my side and front myself. I got matching spray paint from a honda dealer for 10 bucks, it was small can. It was barely enough but it matched my car perfectly. I later wanted to redo my sides since there was alittle paint chipping from people hitting the sides when they go in and out of the car. There was a phone number the paint can, i called it and it turned out to be a shop down in flordia. I found out that for the 94 and up milano red prelude, honda started putting a 'peril' coat of paint between the base red and then a clear coat. So i wanted to see it really made a difference, i ordered the paint. I had alot of trouble getting the old paint off, and i ended up making the passenger side look a hell lot worse ......its like red with this sorta of white glaze over it.. oh well, im getting money together to get a wwrs soon......

here' s the number: 1 800 281 0973

i dunno if it still works or not, my friend tried calling a couple times and sed it didnt' work. But he was able to find some place online that did it, but he ended up not getting the paint and decided to get a whole new paint job....

It depends what you want to accomplish. If you want the textured look which the stock sills already have, you just have to prep it with alcohol to get the surface very clean and then prime it and then coat it with the matching spray from Honda like neoekai mentioned. Being that the stock sills are textured already they will accept the paint without sanding.

If you want a smooth look, then start of with a heavy grit sand paper and slowly work your way down to a light grit sand paper. Then clean with alcohol and prime and paint.

Of course with both methods the final step will be to apply a clear coat.

In my opinion the stock side skirts look great painted if you also paint the front and rear mudflaps with the same milano red color. If you do this, the car doesn't look "empty" on the back because there is no rear lip. The rear flaps give the illusion of a rear lip and complete the look.

Jose, I think you should invest in the mudflaps if you plan on going this route.

Here is what it would look like, this car belongs to fas4ws on HP.com

Ohh! Mee too! I painted mine, but it's just a white primer coating, removed mudflaps. But when I looked at that car, it looked kewl. Maybe I'll put them back on since I have a white car and when i took the d@mn flaps off, there were permanent dirt marks and scratches where it was on.

Do you guys have that black plastic chin piece on the front bumper? When I bought my car it wasn't there. I only noticed it when I started to look at other Ludes out there. Arrrg!

S model Preludes like yours didn't come with the chin spoiler, only the Si and VTEC models had this.

I have mine left over but I think I want to keep it just in case the car ever goes back to stock.

I would try www.hondaautomotiveparts.com

They have the best prices I've seen.

Looks like body side molding on those doors, is it?
tired of my doors getting dinged all to hell

Do you know if the S model came standard with rear flaps
I have a 92s and mine does not. Though the red ones do give a sense of a rear lip

also I tried your link for the front chin piece and the closest I see is something called "mask noise, full" is that what you're talking about

Thanks

No 4th gen came standard with the rear flaps, it was an option.

Here is the image for the Si and VTEC front chin spoiler, it is number 4 and costs $70.19

And here is the url:

Where were you looking

Thanx for the fast replys guys. I was pissed that my car didn't come with the chin spoiler because when I take a front view pic, you will almost always see the plastic underside covers of the car I'll check my funds available and see if I can afford one....
