Thinking about Auto to Manual swap - Honda Prelude Forum

im sure this has been discussed before, and ive done searches and read all the info. I already have a Helms, and the parts list. My question is if there is a place that sells everything needed for the swap. I plan on doing this myself becuase I have air tools, and the Helms, but Im wondering how hard this is, and what are some potential things that can go wrong. Thanx

well it requires welding if that makes a difference,.. its not as easy as a civic or integra .. there is a write up in the 4th gen faq if you havent already read that.. I have done the swap on a civic and thats not bad but i have been told that the prelude and accord is a MAJOR PAIN

I swapped my 4th gen from auto to manual last year and there was no welding whatsoever. Everything's pretty much plug and play and yes it's very easy! The hardest part would be to lift the heavy a$$ tranny but other than that it was cake as long as you have your trusty Helms manual. BTW it took me 3 days to do it by myself although a few friends came by to help me lift the tranny in place towards the end.
