thermal stealth installed- Review
Installed the Thermal stealth a few days ago. Bought it from a very reputable dealer- Cementups(thanks for extremely fast shipping btw) And so after driving with it for a few days around town and on the freeway just thought I'd give a review.
Looks- like a masterpiece out the box. Full SS catback, welds do look beautiful. Muffler tip could be smaller, but looks sweet. Has Thermal R&D signature engraved on top of muffler tip so people can see. Looks classsy.
Install- Easy for me luckily, cat bolts were unexpectedly easy to remove. Real easy and straight forward. Just a matter of laying down cardboard box it came in under car so it doesn't scratch. Fit on hangers easy and fit's snug.
Sound- At idle just a low rumble that is a little louder than stock. Sitting in seat sounds ok but louder, as I lean forward toward windshield the sound get's louder and deeper and I feel the rumble in my head.
Normal driving- I can keep it real quiet in my very quiet neighborhood if I drive right. Starting at stop lights it's noticeable but not like some ricey azz hondas I hear that sounds like crapolla, everyone knows what I mean.
WOT- or just driving agressive produces a nice deep racey note. It kicks azz, people will notice.
Freeway- I 100% love this thing on the freeway. I'm sure it is louder than stock on the freeway but while just cruising at any speed just sounds nice and pretty darn quiet. Drop it in 4th and sound from i/h/e together sounds like a wild beast trying to escape. Just beautiful.
Overall- this exhaust likes higher rpms, low rpms produce a low rumbly sound that can be annoying if "not in the mood." High rpm's produce an aggresive race car sound, and are more pleasant to the ear. Don't know if I got any gains. The sound makes me feel 20 times more confident about my car though. Sorry no pics- I'm workin on it.
